— The magic behind the name —
About Mana
Mana is a standalone intelligence layer for Path of Exile 1 and 2 — not a Path of Building reskin, and not a single-purpose calculator. Today's tools use your supplied character data, item text, and configured checks. Live-market and patch ingestion remain planned. The long-term aim connects those sources into one running question: given everything Mana actually knows about you, what’s the most useful thing to know or do next, and why?
— How Mana thinks —
Deterministic first
Anything with an exact right answer — item parsing, affix counts, resistance math, crafting legality, currency value — runs on real code, not a guess. No property or modifier is ever filled in by an AI reading item text; it’s parsed correctly, or surfaced as unresolved rather than invented.
Reasoning where it earns its place
Judgment is reserved for what only judgment can do: understanding what you’re trying to accomplish, weighing trade-offs across systems, explaining the “why,” and teaching — never deciding whether an item modifier is real.
— The one rule that never bends —
No Path of Building required
PoB / PoB2 is one optional specialist calculation engine — never Mana’s foundation. A player who has never installed it can still create a character, get build guidance, use crafting tools, and configure Mana Watch. Bringing PoB in later enriches what Mana already knows about your build; it never unlocks a feature that was gated behind it.
The same discipline applies everywhere in Mana: distinguish “no data yet” from “checked, found nothing,” and never nag a feature away from someone who skipped an optional step.
Choose Standard, Reduced, Device preference, or Motion off in Mana Options. Every sound is optional, and captions remain available without spoken audio.
